Forecasting wind services

Antevista Korea counts with the necessary supercomputing capacity to perform high-capability wind efficiency forecasting. Prevision of the energetic resource for windfarms in planning or exploitation, both terrestrial and experimental test bench. Our forecasts of energetic production are based on a combination of prevision models af short and medium term, at a high spatial and temporal resolution (72 hours and ten-minute resolution), together with the best statistic techniques (Ensemble Prediction Systems, EPS y MOS) and techniques related to Artificial Intelligence and the application of neuronal networks.

Scope: 1) Performance forecast for any part of the globe; 2) Individual forecasting or for large wind farms; 3) With temporal resolution of 10 minutes; 4) reports about production and availability (via SMS, e-mail); 5) Display of trends for the main variables; 6) Alert for ice formation; 7) Data supply through FTP; 8) Horizon of 3 days in advance; 9) Several updates per day; 10) Windows of on and off switch (manteinance); etc...

IfR-Med Tower Rental Service

Wind measurements are crucial to the establishment and daily operations of a wind farm. Although there are various tools available on the market, including: Anemometers, Meteorological Towers, wind LiDARs and Sodars, these often lack accuracy, are difficult to position, are costly or, are not flexible enough to be used in multiple positions in the same location, simultaneously.

The uniqueness of pur technology is in its exploitation of technology and components used in unrelated fields, such as optics and telecom, to create innovative solutions in wind technology. Using common off the shelf components, such as Exploit lasers, Detectors and Optical components, together with a unique architectural structure and measurement methods patented, allows us to provide simultaneous, accurate and reliable measurements of wind speed at multiple sites, at a cost per site significantly lower than existing technologies

O&M Stage – Windfarm Due Diligence

We analyze the performance of windfarms in stage of usage. These studies include among other aspects: Re-evaluation of expected production in long term in windfarms in stage of usage; Identification of causes of deviation in relation to expected production; proposal of correcting measures which allow the improvement of energetic results in the park; changes in operation and management strategies, changes in schedule, fixing, etc; Proposals about improvement in strategies of stoppage based on real production data from the windfarm.

Study of the climate change impact on the windfarm

The last stage of the energetic modelling to completely characterize the windfarm is to provide an adapted vision to the wind reality in our time, the Climate change and its impact in wind energy. climateMAST CLIMATE CHANGE® consists in improving the wind characterization in addition to basic information (analysis of the standard resource) energetic and economic fluctuation induced by the Climate Change in the 21st Century. That means evaluating reductions/increments in average speed of wind, modifications in the main direction, modification of wind power, fluctuations of the energetic performance, etc. which can be evaluated in six-months periods, interannual, etc (detecting anomalies), which will be translated as well into fluctuations of the wind project’s cash flow, modification of TIR, VAN, ROI, etc. (studies of economic sensibility), while the farm’s life span runs out (25 years approximately). climateMAST CLIMATE CHANGE® is applied with the goal of providing the most accurate and extensive information and to a wider time and space scale.

Technical characteristics of the product: Computer modelling of 150 years of data; period of reference (1985-2015) and 3 future Climate Change scenarios (2015-2040); any global location both terrestrial or marine; Computed at a 100 meters resolution; any height between 50 and 150 meters; Histogram of the speed of wind with its Weibull and much more; Extreme wind in 50 years (Gumbel Method); average of temperature and air density; Provides preliminary ground plans, impact of the annual energetic production, impact of the plant factors, and estimation of the capacity for evaluation and complete analysis of the initial project.

Weather forecasting for windfarm construction

It implies outsourcing a meteorological service of industrial character, which is not even available in some national weather services due to its high specificity, linked to the industrial sector, and customized to each wind project. Weather conditions affect directly the execution of building and assembly in height; efficiency and work risk; expenses conducting heavy machinery, etc. so, having  access to such information it will be possible to stablish a more rational usage of time, increase of the work safety and a fulfillment of goals, plans and decision management.

weatherWIND SYSTEM® is an application expressed through a webplatform or/and smartphone, which monitors environmental conditions to operate outside, for industrial projects internationally located. It provides weather information highly customized and adapted to the needs of the building sector, with the main objective of maximizing work outdoors, improving management, optimizing costs on prevention reducing vulnerability and exposure of human resources and infrastructures.

Technical characteristics of the product: It refers to industrial weather forecasting, highly personalized and adapted exclusively to each one of the locations within the building or maintenance of wind energetic infrastructures both in land and sea (marine/terrestrial windfarms). It is included a service of real-time lightning information for windfarms under construction or maintenance; service of alerts and presentation of results in an interactive way. Generation of reports of up to 10 days of prevision, alarms and/or  daily e-mails and SMS to the construction manager and other project managers. Exclusive advice 24/7, accessible through web-line and e-mail in order to get answers to critical questions that affect the planning, schedule and resources of the on-site equipment.

To have an application that allows the previous knowledge of the environmental conditions through the usage of the latest technologies. That will provide several benefits, among them we highlight: 1) To operate safely with the shortest period of inactivity; 2) Increase of the response times (decisions and actuations); 3) It is improved the fulfilling of programs and production goals; 4) Strategies of protection and warranty in exceptional work conditions; ; 5) Potential of accidents o incidents; 6) The contractor has a more rational usage of resources; 7) Improves logistics of heavy machinery (cranes, trucks, helicopters, etc.)
